About Isolagen

Isolagen® is a different type of aesthetic medicine product that uses your own collagen producing cells to correct wrinkles and some scars with long lasting effect; the latest research even suggesting continued improvement 8 years later. Your skin rejuvenating cells are frozen in time, for future use. These cells will not age - a 30 year old starting treatment can freeze their own cells and benefit from their vitality and repairing effect many years later.

A small skin sample is taken from behind the ear and sent to the Isolagen® Cellular Facility. Here, new fibroblasts (the collagen producing cells) are grown in large quantities.

About 2 months later the first batch of your own cells will be ready for use. Several other treatments will follow.

Product uses:

Isolagen® claims to be an effective treatment for all the usual dermal filler indications such as lines, wrinkles and folds, with the addition of scarring and wrinkles radiating from the lips (vertical lipstick bleeding lines) that can challenge conventional dermal fillers. It is anticipated that Isolagen® will also be useful in the field of dentistry.

The down side:

A relative lack of long term information could be viewed as a disadvantage, as this is a new treatment.
A slight redness after treatment that lasts only a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, the treatment will fail in 5% of patients.
