Alison Uttley - Arc Aesthetics
I am an aesthetic practitioner and the founder of Arc Aesthetics. I am a practising dental specialist, also qualified in Medicine. I have had considerable hospital experience in the field of maxillofacial surgery and gained a postgraduate fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (FDSRCS) in 1997. I am fully trained and indemnified to practice non surgical cosmetic procedures and I am a full member of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors. |

Please feel welcome to look my registration up on the GDC website. Some of my early postgraduate research involved psychology and facial aesthetics, which together with my love of anatomy sparked the idea for Arc Aesthetics.
My approach to aesthetic medicine
I prefer an honest informative approach. If you don't need any treatment, or
there is no effective treatment - I will tell you so. Some areas are very
challenging to treat : I would rather you knew this from the beginning.
I maintain an evolving relationship with my patients, where you are pivotal
in the decision making process. Some patients choose email or ongoing
review appointments to be part of our personal consulting service. You will
be updated on the latest aesthetic developments with relevance to you.

Absolute pain control for procedures, absolute discretion and striving for perfection are my priorities. I dislike the trend for mixing alcohol with medical procedures ("Botox parties") and have never been a fan of the "bee- stung" appearance of some lip sculptures! |
Rainbows
Another passion is reflected in the website and the company name: arc-en-ciel. I find the beauty and clarity of this natural phenomenon inspiring. I think a rainbow may have other parallels with aesthetic procedures; an anonymous quote reads "to have a rainbow, you have to put up with the rain". Often, our treatment choices are as many stranded as a rainbow and some will require putting up with interference in normal daily activity ("down time"). This all deserves informed discussion, which will take place at the consultation visit.
Consultation appointments
An honest, confidential consultation aims to deal with your special concerns. I will "map" your face and, with your permission, take digital photographs. I like to be very clear about your choices of procedures, their cost and potential complications. You may decide that you want to book for treatment or you may decide that aesthetic medicine is not for you, which is fine too. Consultations cost £20 and are redeemable against any treatment you choose.
Treatments - Anti Ageing and Rejuvenation
Whatever treatment you choose will be carried out with great attention to
detail.
You will find that I use numbing cream even for small procedures
such as Botox. Local anaesthetic or intravenous sedation, with the expertise of
a specialist anaesthetist is possible for larger procedures.
After Treatment
I like to meet a couple of weeks after your initial treatment appointment to
assess the results and to see how you are getting on.
